At Hyundai plant near St. Petersburg there passed the presentation of new generation of one of the models, most popular in Russia — Solaris. Now cars in three changes collect on the conveyor and actively carry on the dealer centers.
First of all It should be noted that sales of old "Solaris" remained in recent months practically at the same level, as last and years before last. Thus, Hyundai could very quietly continue to sell old model, waiting for notable falling of interest in it. But Hyundai goes on other way, being ahead of competitors and setting it speed.
Despite huge popularity, to model clients had claims, and with new generation in Hyundai tried to eliminate them whenever possible.
As it appeared, owners of last "Solaris" became despondent from available options of coloring of a body. Therefore now future owners of the updated model will be able to choose from orange, blue and even chocolate color.
Dimensions of the car remained without changes. The only distinction — increased by 2 centimeters forward свес and on 1,5 centimeters decreased back.
And here the exterior of Solaris was refreshed, though the previous option gave odds in respect of design to all competitors in a class.
Registration of a radiator lattice on new Solaris has no analogs among other models of the producer so far, but thus is the extremely similar to Toyota Corolla. The yes changed section of headlights too for some reason sends to Japanese model, than to previous "Solaris" more.
Other externally became also back part of a body: there were other lamps, fog lights, and the bumper became more massive.
In salon at first sight all one in one as in the first generation. But we include ignition and we see that screens of the radio tape recorder and climatic installation don't burn out an eye a bright blue luminescence any more — a background black now. We put a hand on a door armrest and we feel a difference: now it not plastic, but soft, fitted by a leather substitute. We try to settle in a driver's seat and we find adjustment of a wheel on a departure which wasn't earlier.
The producer continued repeats: "Solaris is perfectly adapted for Russia". Also adds new options — now there was a heating of a windshield. Actually, nobody argues.
Assure of Hyundai that the covering of seats became more better, but a special difference a naked eye if it is honest, it isn't visible.
Motors remained the same: 1,4-and 1,6-liter gathering in China. By itself, problems with engines remained former. And the main of them — a small resource. Not without reason in the secondary market Solaris with run more than 100 thousand kilometers it is presented today much.
And here to the shelf of transmissions arrived. Now Solaris will be able to be completed with a 6-band automatic transmission. At once we will note that the lever of new "machine gun", thank God, moves now on a straight line, but not on terrible zigzags, as earlier.
The declared fuel consumption on the old 4-staged machine gun — 8,6 liters on 100 kilometers in the mixed cycle. Thus in reality of figure less than 9,5 liters practically to none of owners don't manage to be reached, even at a quiet driving. The new 6-band machine gun is urged to reduce average fuel consumption which according to the registration certificate makes 8,8 liters / 100 kilometers in the mixed cycle now. But whether these figures will be true now?
There was also a new mechanical box, at which now also six steps. "Yes, competitors put the 6-band machine gun, but "mechanics" with the same number of transfers so far for some reason anybody, except us, doesn't offer" — representatives of the Korean brand are perplexed.
New boxes can make couple only to the 1,6-liter motor, and with the engine 1,4 the same transmissions, as are available earlier.
Whether Solaris in the movement changed? Unfortunately no. The producer didn't begin to change neither a suspension bracket design, nor its settings. So, the problems inherent in last generation remained. We were convinced of it, having passed some circles on the test route of plant. For example, as before, the back axis floats and at a high speed, and when passing turns enough. Over this problem the producer worked and with the first generation of model, but replacement of shock-absorbers and springs didn't succeeded to solve a problem, in fact.
Of course, it didn't become surprise: Koreans generally work on making the budgetary car the most attractive and equipped. So, the owner of the budgetary car as though doesn't feel the deprived. But all this is necessary to the detriment of controllability of the car.
Same was also thickness of steel of which make a model body: new Solaris of grams in gram weighs as old. And thin metal of a body as we know, directly influences safety of the driver and passengers at collision. Here everything too is clear: stronger steel is more expensive, and, respectively, prime cost of the car significantly increases.
Considering that the prices of model practically didn't change, to abuse the updated Solaris it seems and there is nothing. It is a pity that too it is a little reasons for a praise. "Solaris", paraphrasing a saying — it is rather yet not forgotten old, than something new. Nevertheless availability of this model together with a good set of options and excellent appearance will provide interest of buyers in it still at least for few years.
The cost of model begins from 473 900 rubles, and in the most expensive complete set of Solaris will cost to buyers 639 900 rubles.
